At Houston Bark Park and Daycare, we know dogs love to play outside.  In addition to our air-conditioned indoor play areas, our spacious outdoor parks are packed with fun, pup-friendly amenities that include splash pads, bubble cannons, pools, cooling plates, shade, and play equipment to climb on.

Living in Houston means dealing with heat for most of the year, so keeping the pups cool is always our top priority. We’ve developed creative, trendsetting ways to beat the heat, and our efforts were featured on Fox26 Houston!

Every day is a dog swim day at Houston Bark Park and Daycare! We have pools of different sizes to ensure everyone enjoys splashing and swimming during the summer!

Some ways we keep cool

Pools

Splashing in water is one of the simplest and most effective ways to help dogs stay cool, and many of our pups love playing in our large and small pools! Safety is always our top priority, so all pool play is closely supervised, and the water is kept at a safe level to ensure a fun and safe experience for every dog.

Splash Pads

Undoubtedly, one of our most popular amenities year-round is the splash pad! This adds enrichment while keeping dogs cool and comfortable. Our splash pads use fresh water (never recycled) and spout out fun streams for the pups to catch! As a bonus, the splash pads are always wet with cold water, which keeps a pup’s paw pads cool and makes for a cool place to lie down.

Our splash pads help keep pups cool and provide a ton of fun!

Cooling Collars

If you’ve spotted some of our pups on camera sporting stylish blue accessories, they’re not just a fashion statement! Cooling collars are specially designed to help keep your dog comfortable and safe during hot weather. These collars are made from fabric that absorbs cold water and helps regulate your dog’s body temperature while they’re out in the sun.

The back of your dog’s neck is a key area for cooling, making these collars a smart solution for hot days. To use one, simply soak the collar in cold water, store it in the fridge for extra chill, then wrap it gently around your dog’s neck. The stretchy, soft fabric ensures a comfortable fit while providing lasting cooling relief.

Whether you’re heading to the park or just lounging in the yard, a cooling collar is an easy way to help protect your pup from overheating.

Cold Plates

Our famous cold plates are the ultimate cool-down spot on a Houston summer day! Made from large, temperature-controlled panels, they stay a refreshing 65°despite the harsh Texas sun. Dogs love to sprawl out, stretch, and sneak in a quick nap on our cooling plates. Designed for comfort and relief from the heat, these cold surfaces give pups the perfect place to cool down after playtime.

To make things even better, our cooling plates are placed directly beneath misting systems that help keep both our dogs and team members refreshed and comfortable throughout the day.

Two dogs, one brown and white and one golden, sit on a cold plate that regulates a cool temperature, panting happily. Grass and other dogs are in the background.
One of our most popular spots to hang out is on our cold plates! They stay at a cool temperature year-round!
