Whether you’re new to HBP or just need a quick refresher, we’re here to help you get to know everything we offer, from daycare and boarding to our one-of-a-kind amenities you won’t find anywhere else.

Q: How many locations do you have?

We have three convenient Houston locations: Maxie, Shepherd, and Energy Corridor (EC), each designed for comfort, safety, and playtime fun. Every location includes indoor and outdoor play areas, splash pads, and trained staff who treat every dog like family.

Q: What’s special about your daycare program?

Our daycare is designed around safe, structured play, not chaos.

We group dogs by size and temperament, and our team knows every pup by name, personality, and play style. You’ll find:

  • Indoor and expansive outdoor play areas (more space than most Houston facilities!)

  • Appropriate playgroups (four total at Maxie and Shepherd)

  • Live cameras so you can check in anytime

  • Daycare report cards available for updates on your dog’s day

  • Amenities designed by us for dogs

We also run weekly perks like $5 off daycare on Mondays and loyalty reward cards for our frequent visitors.

Q: How does boarding work?

Boarding at HBP feels like a dog’s dream vacation, all-day play and cozy nights!

At Maxie and Shepherd, boarding dogs join daycare during the day and rest comfortably overnight. At our Energy Corridor (and case by case at Shepherd) location, pups who prefer a calmer overnight experience, can board with 5 potty breaks instead of daycare.

Highlights include:

  • Luxury suites at Energy Corridor (with 24/7 camera access!)

  • Extended pick-up hours (7:00–7:45 PM) for busy schedules

  • All day play available at all three locations

  • Add on evening snacks

  • Add on boarding report cards

  • Add on grooming services

Pro tip: Book early for the holidays. We fill up fast around Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Q: What’s Academy, and how is it different from daycare?

Academy is our specialized daycare track for dogs who thrive in smaller, more focused social settings.

In addition to recess time (open play), Academy pups enjoy guided engagement led by our trained attendants (“teachers”), including:

  • Scent games

  • Impulse control exercises

  • Mobility exercises

  • Structured enrichment activities

  • Positive reinforcement of good behaviors

It’s perfect for pups who love to learn and/or need a little more structure during the day. PS these pups also get to play with toys!

Q: Do you offer grooming?

Yes! Our grooming services start at just $30 and are available at the Maxie and EC locations. We offer baths, nail trims, and additional spa services at all three locations, You’ll often find monthly promos like $5 - $10 off baths. Our grooming team works hand-in-hand with our daycare and boarding staff to make the experience stress-free for your pup.

Q: What makes your amenities so unique?

This is where we truly stand out. Almost everything you see at HBP was designed and built by us, right here in Houston.

Here’s what makes playtime unforgettable:

  • Custom Splash Pads — designed in-house with controls that let dogs activate the water themselves.

  • Bubble Cannons — created by us after realizing our dogs loved bubbles. They’re dog-safe and a total hit!

  • Cold Plates (Patent-Pending) — our own innovation to help dogs cool down safely in Houston’s heat.

  • Chill Zones — shaded rest areas with underground refrigeration, misting systems, and even USB charging for humans.

When we say “built by dog lovers for dog lovers,” we mean it.

Dogs play in a foam-covered area under a blue "Chill Zone" canopy. Green grass, trees, and a few clouds enhance the lively scene.

Q: What’s your philosophy on safety and care?

Our staff doesn’t just watch dogs; they know them personally. We make thoughtful playgroup placements, use constant supervision, and always focus on positive, reward-based behavior. Every dog is treated as part of our HBP family, and our clients often say it feels more like a community than a daycare.

Q: Do you host events or special meetups?

We love celebrating with our pack. Some of our annual favorites include:

  • Howl-O-Ween Bash

  • Cinco de Barko

  • Breed meetups and playgroup socials.

  • Private park members frequently plan meetups in our private park located at the Maxie location

Q: Do you offer transportation?

Yes! We partner with pet taxi services like Skyline Pet Care to make drop-offs and pick-ups stress-free. Perfect for busy mornings or last-minute plans. Just schedule your ride and let us handle the rest.

Q: Why choose Houston Bark Park & Daycare?

Because we’re more than a daycare, we’re a family.

Larger play areas than competitors

A clean, happy space where tails wag all day

Patent-pending cold plates, bubble cannons, and custom splash pads

Friendly, dedicated staff who know your dog by name

Transparency with live cameras and add on report cards

Innovations made right here by animal lovers

We love being a place where dogs can play, learn, and relax — and where their humans can feel confident they’re in good hands. We’re always looking for ways to make HBP even better, and your thoughts really help.
